Liberty Provisions is a heritage farm located in Anderson, Texas, which utilizes sustainable practices to supply grass-fed meats, pasture-raised eggs, and organic produce to families and restaurants in the Houston area. All their heritage breed animals, including Katahdin lamb and Pineywood cattle, are free to roam and graze on the lush, native land of Liberty Hills Ranch.
I was tasked with creating a brand identity grounded in the owners’ core value, “purity through simplicity.” A fresh take on the traditional craftsman style brand, the goal was to create something that would be easily identified as a Texas farm, but stand out at farmers’ markets and aid them as they break into the Houston restaurant market.
A vintage-style script was chosen to serve as a base for the primary logo, with custom swashes and lockup to create a unique finished product. Abbreviated and expanded versions, to include a custom sheep illustration, were made to suite a variety of branding situations. The decorative logo script is paired with a simple monospaced typeface, using blocks to neatly organize information and create a flag-like aesthetic across the brand’s printed materials.
Echoing company values, we took a simple, utilitarian approach to branding and packaging and use sustainable materials throughout.
